We're looking for an experienced interpreter to support students onsite throughout the 26/27 academic year. This contract position offers consistent, full-time hours, allowing you to build connections with students while facilitating access to instruction and social interactions.
In this dynamic role, you will:
- Attend classes alongside assigned students to provide accurate sign language interpretation of instructional and auditory content
- Ensure student comprehension by re-teaching or clarifying information as needed
- Support students in engaging with hearing peers and staff, bridging communication in both academic and social settings
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all situations
- Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to support student success
To be considered, you will need:
- Active Georgia licensure and credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter
- A minimum EIPA score of 3.5
- Active Georgia Educator's Certification
- Previous school-based interpreting experience is highly valued
- Availability to work onsite, Monday-Friday, during school hours (37.5 hours/week)
- Reliable transportation for consistent attendance
